Minnesota United FC is proud to continue its Pop It and Drop It donation drive in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest (RMHC-UM). Originally launched during the 2024 season, this initiative makes Allianz Field the only stadium in the world to implement a year-round, stadium-wide pop tab collection program.
Fans attending matches at Allianz Field in Saint Paul are encouraged to pop the tabs off canned beverages and other aluminum products and drop them in collection bins placed throughout the stadium. These pop tabs—made from high-quality, pure aluminum—are surprisingly valuable and have raised more than $819,000 for RMHC-UM over the past 30 years, generating between $20,000 and $25,000 annually.
The need is real and ongoing. In 2024, RMHC-UM provided free lodging, meals, essential supplies, and supportive programming to over 5,000 families facing a child’s health crisis. “We never charge for our services,” said RMHC-UM President & CEO Jill Evenocheck. “This program helps us continue offering a home away from home, so families can focus on healing—not logistics or finances.”
