Kapp was selected 68th overall by Atlanta United in the fourth round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft and signed off waivers with MNUFC on August 8, 2017.
He featured for Boston College from 2012–15 — playing 1,435 of a possible 1,525 minutes in his junior year and ranking fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference in saves per game (3.67) — and Creighton University as a graduate student in 2016, where he was named Big East Goalkeeper of the Year and selected to the NSCAA NCAA Division I All-American Third Team. He accumulated 62 collegiate matches and made more than 200 saves during his time in the ACC and Big East.
Before college, Kapp featured for FC Westchester Academy and the U.S. under-17 national team. He earned all-city and all-state as a junior and senior in high school at Iona Prep in New Rochelle, New York.
