The holiday season has come and gone, but before we move forward into 2025, let’s take a look back at some of the great moments in December – specifically in the realm of community. The spirit of community comes naturally with the holidays, and we had such a great time continuing in our goal of giving back during those weeks.

Toy Collection – Toys for Tots

Throughout the month of December, MNUFC collected toys for disadvantaged children within our community in partnership with Toys for Tots – a Marine Corps initiative that distributed a total of 25.5 million toys, books, and other gifts to children in need across the United States last year.

Kit Man Sale – The Food Group

Every two years, Minnesota United sells gear from past seasons at a discounted rate, with 100% of profits donated to charity. From December 6-8, MNUFC hosted the Kit Man Sale, raising more than $20,000 to support The Food Group, a local organization that specializes in providing food for those in need within Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Winter Gear Drive – Blaze Credit Union and Open Hands Midway

From December 9-14, in partnership with Blaze Credit Union, MNUFC collected winter supplies for Open Hands Midway, a local organization that helps those in need with food and economic support.

Power Soccer Academy Launch – Allina Health and Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute

On December 15, in partnership with Allina Health and the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, MNUFC launched their Power Soccer Academy team with a signing day for the eight new Loons. The athletes signed their contracts while their families cheered them on, and afterwards there was a celebration with music, food, and professional photos in their MNUFC gear. The event not only saw the Loons family grow a little bigger, it ushered in a new era for MNUFC power soccer, as it expands to include an even wider pool of players.
