Following last Thursday’s shootout win over Austin FC II, which ended their six-game losing streak, the Twos will look to keep the good vibes going when they face Colorado Rapids 2 this Friday at the National Sports Center in Blaine, MN. If the Twosies are able carry anything over from last week, they hope it will be the fight they showed against Austin, especially after trailing 2-0 late in the second half. The comeback began in earnest in the 82nd minute, when MNUFC2 was awarded a penalty kick that midfielder Rory O’Driscoll converted. Then, in the dying moments of the 90th minute, Julian Banks’ cross to Loïc Mesanvi in the box was redirected into the net by an Austin defender for an own-goal equalizer.

Last week’s comeback showed the character of this young squad, and bringing that kind of never-say-die attitude can only help their chances when they face Colorado. Rapids 2, who have had their share of struggles this season, will be coming into this match on a positive note of their own following last week’s 2-0 win over a tough North Texas side.

If the Twos hope to take the wind out of Colorado’s sails, they will undoubtedly look to captain Kage Romanshyn Jr. and his midfield partner Rory O'Driscoll to keep the ball rolling. Adding fuel to the attacking fire, MLS Next All-Star selection Darius Randell is expected to return to the lineup after participating in the All-Star game this past Tuesday.

Even some of the newest additions to the Twos have wasted no time in familiarizing fans with their names. Most recently, in his debut match for MNUFC2, striker Enrique Nieves made an immediate impact by scoring the deciding goal in the shootout win over the Verde and Black.
