MNUFC2 showcased a commanding first-half performance and maintained their dominance to secure a 4-2 victory over Sporting Kansas II. The Twos capitalized on counterattacks, clinical finishes and a pivotal penalty save by Wessel Speel in the 89th minute to secure the three points and remain unbeaten.

21’ - After Sporting Kansas City II’s Maoluloune Goumballe gained possession of the ball at midfield, he sent a through ball to Gael Quintero, who attempted a one-touch shot from outside the 18-yard box. But, MNUFC2 goalkeeper Wessel Speel made a crucial save with his foot.

21’ - Shortly after Speel made the save on Quintero’s shot, the Twos stormed back on the counterattack, where forward Logan Dorsey took a tight-angled shot that was ultimately deflected away.

25’ (1-0) - MNUFC2 were the first ones to find the back of the net. Kieran Chandler played a give-and-go with Loïc Mesanvi and, after receiving the return pass, Chandler made a long switch to the left side of the penalty area to find DJ Taylor, who headed the ball to the far post to score the opening goal.

44’ (1-1) - SKCII forced the equalizer as Anthony Samways made a run down the right sideline and played a cross into the box, which resulted in an own goal by MNUFC2 defender Kisa Kiingi.

45’ (2-1) - Moments after Sporting scored, MNUFC2 defender Britton Fischer gained possession of the ball in the Twos’ defensive third. He then sent a long ball deep into SKCII’s territory, where the home-side defender missed the clearance opportunity, moving the ball inside the six-yard box towards an empty net. Dorsey was inside the box and capitalized on the moment, re-gaining the lead for MNUFC2.

45’+ 3’ (3-1) - The Twos scored their third goal just before halftime. Taylor made a long switch to find Chandler alone inside the 18-yard box, where he had time to settle the ball and find Darius Randell at the right post, who headed it into the net.

49’ (4-1) - After sustained pressure, Randell got a touch on the ball that found Dorsey in a one-on-one with Ryan Schewe, and Dorsey slotted it into the bottom right corner.

53’ - SKCII’s Beckham Uderitz was the recipient of a ball inside MNUFC2’s box when he took a close-range shot on target, but Speel made the punching save.

67’ (4-2) - Sporting Kansas City II’s David Zavala made a long run down the right side of the field, cutting through the center to find Carter Derksen. After receiving the ball, Zavala then continued his run to the right post and switched the ball to the far post to score the second goal.

73’ - The ball was played into MNUFC2’s box and bounced around the feet of multiple players before landing in front of Goumballe, who took a close-range strike that was saved by Speel to keep the score at 4-2 in favor of the Twos.

82’ - Twos’ defender Kisa Kiingi exited the match due to an apparent injury, forcing MNUFC2 to play down a man for the remainder of the game as they had no more substitute windows.

89’ - Speel made a crucial penalty save for the Twos in the 89th minute to prevent a third goal for SKCII after Anderson Farris committed a hand ball on the line after a shot from Bryan Arellano.
