MNUFC2 announced today the club has signed forward Luke Hille and midfielder Curt Calov to MLS NEXT Pro contracts.
“Luke joins our team as a natural goalscorer who makes it difficult for opponents to play against because he loves to compete and has a high energy and great work ethic that will be a threat in our attacking third,” said MNUFC2 Head Coach Jeremy Hall. “Curt is gifted technically when it comes to his passing and ability to connect scoring chances,” added Hall. “He will provide a strong presence in our midfield and has experience winning championships at a high level. I’m looking forward to seeing both of these players impact our squad not only on the field when it comes to results, but also in leadership roles they can hold throughout the season.”
Luke Hille, a forward from Cary, North Carolina, joins MNUFC2 on a one-year contract through December 2025 after recently playing his senior season collegiately for the University of North Carolina. During his time with the Tar Heels in 2024, Hille featured in 18 matches (all starts), where he scored eight goals and provided one assist.
Prior to his time with UNC, Hille played three years with NC State University from 2020-2023. As a member of the Wolfpack, the forward made 42 game appearances and tallied 15 goals. Before his college career, he was a member of North Carolina Football Club’s Youth Academy and additionally earned a call-up to the United States U14 Boys National Team camp in 2017.
“I’m incredibly excited to begin my professional career here in Minnesota with MNUFC2,” said forward Luke Hille. “This opportunity means the world to me, and I’m grateful for the chance to grow both as a player and a person at such a fantastic club. None of this would have been possible without God’s guidance, the support from my family, and the coaches who’ve helped shape me along the way. I can’t wait to give my all for this team. Let’s go United!”
Midfielder Curt Calov, hailing from Morristown, New Jersey, joins MNUFC2 on a one-year contract through December 2025, with a club option for 2026. Calov was previously a midfielder for Rutgers University from 2023-2024, where he made 31 appearances (29 starts), totaling eight goals and five assists provided.
Prior to his time at Rutgers, Calov attended Syracuse University from 2021-2022, playing in 41 matches, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists. He notably scored during regulation time of the 2022 NCAA Tournament Championship Game against Indiana University and bagged his penalty-kick shot during the eventual shootout, helping Syracuse win the national championship that season. In his youth, Calov played for the Players Development Academy in New Jersey.
“I’m super excited to join MNUFC2 and Minnesota United and be a part of such a great club,” said midfielder Curt Calov. “I am grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get started. I’m also excited to work hard and grow as a player – and as a person – to help the team have a successful season.”
