MNUFC2 announced today that the club has signed forward Kameron Lacey to a one-year MLS NEXT Pro contract, with a club option.
“The time he’s been with us, he’s been incredibly hard-working. Kameron has been with us on a trial for a bit now and has been really consistent in the way that he performs and has shown to be a good finisher,” said MNUFC2 Head Coach Cameron Knowles. “He puts the opposition under a lot of pressure when they’re trying to build out. Kameron is a good person and a good teammate; we’re excited to add him.”
Lacey, a 22-year-old forward from Miami, Florida, previously played four years of collegiate soccer with the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. There, he made 58 game appearances, 46 starts, scored 17 goals and provided 14 assists while with the 49ers. At Charlotte, Lacey earned first-team All-American Conference honors after finishing his senior 2022 campaign with career highs in goals with nine and assists with seven.
In his youth, Lacey played for FC Dallas, Miramar United and Orlando City’s systems. He notably was a member of FC Dallas’ U17 and Orlando City’s U19 Conference Championship-winning squads. Internationally, the forward has represented Jamaica, playing with the U17 and U20 national teams, making two appearances for the U20 squad in friendlies against the United States U19 and U20 teams.
