Minnesota United is excited to announce a new partnership with Roots for the Home Team and Allina Health, bringing an exciting addition to the Allianz Field concourse this season. Loons fans will now have more healthy salad options to pick from when they go on a concessions run, courtesy of the local youth that work with Roots for the Home Team.Â
By using the power of food, community, and entrepreneurship, Roots for the Home Team strives to support and empower young people who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color and LGBTQ+ to make choices that build the life they want. Roots has emerged as a driving force in cultivating sustainable food systems, nurturing creativity, and developing young minds in our community.
Fans can find the Roots concession cart stationed on the west side of the stadium by section 29 all season long, offering salads starting at just $13. Their menu will include a rotation of featured offerings, like the Jalapeno Popper Power salad, in addition to a Caesar option.
If you’ve ever been to Target Field for a Twins game, you may have noticed the Salad Up Cart, offering healthy options to fans. Much like the baseball counterpart, the cart at Allianz Field will use locally-grown ingredients in all its salads.
Investing in initiatives like this one is an essential step in increasing access to healthy food in the Twin Cities, while supporting workforce development opportunities for youth. Allina Health and Minnesota United are proud to join Roots for the Home Team in this pursuit, and excited for fans to enjoy some delicious salads this season!
