While the 2020 season is temporarily postponed, Minnesota United is providing free streams of past Loon Classics. Next up is the Minnesota United Home Opener and Stadium Opener at Allianz Field last April.
Minnesota United made its long-anticipated first game at Allianz Field on Saturday, April 13, 2019. After claiming three wins in their first five road games, the Loons entered their new home to face struggling New York City FC. With four draws and a loss to start the year, NYCFC was struggling in the post-David Villa era. Since losing to the Loons in September of 2018, NYCFC had won just two of its last 11 games. The Loons looked to continue their dominant home form from the previous season and perform well for the hometown supporters, who did their part to make their new stadium a difficult place for visiting teams to play. The inaugural game at Allianz Field was a historic day, and MNUFC was highly motivated to christen the stadium with three points.
Due to MLS restrictions, the stream is only available for viewers within the Minneapolis-Saint Paul broadcast markets.
