An impressive array of materials and components are arriving and going up at the future site of Allianz Field every day now. Fittingly, the new home for the world’s game in Minnesota will be built out of material from all over the world.
The PTFE screen that will be wrapped around the building is being produced in Manchester, New Hampshire, and fabricated in Shanghai, China. The structural steel is coming from Wisconsin, the aluminum bleachers are coming from Kentucky, the tile is coming from Rome and the playing surface is currently growing in Colorado. Other elements from doors to louvers to signage to prefabricated plumbing to railings are coming from right here in Minnesota.
Check out some new photos of the construction site below to see how it’s coming along, including pics of the awning going in at the stadium's south end.
