Minnesota United FC today announced that Allianz Field has earned Ecolab Science Certified™ seal, demonstrating the club’s commitment to a higher level of cleanliness for their team, staff and fans. Allianz Field is the first Major League Soccer venue to earn the Ecolab Science Certified seal. Â
“We have the best stadium in soccer and the best fans in soccer and they are both critical to our success,” said MNUFC CEO Chris Wright. “When we designed Allianz Field we focused primarily on the experience of the fan. In addition to an incredible viewing experience we want our fans to have confidence that when they come to a game to support their team, they see our commitment to helping keep them safe. That’s why we have worked with our incredible partner in Ecolab to help ensure fan safety by implementing Ecolab Science Certified.”
Developed by Ecolab Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services, Ecolab Science Certified is a comprehensive, science-based program that combines hospital disinfectants and food-contact sanitizers approved for use against the COVID-19 virus with public health and food safety protocols and training, and periodic auditing to bring confidence in practices that are repeated and checked. The program was developed to bring the same scientific expertise Ecolab brings to keeping hospitals clean to everyday places like hotels, restaurants, grocery stores and sports venues.Â
“Allianz Field is a truly special place to watch a game and we’re proud to help give fans confidence in returning to watch the Loons in person,” said Kris Kielsa, Ecolab executive vice president and GM, Institutional. “Together we’re advancing cleaner, safer public health and food practices, so that we can all get back to the moments and places we enjoy most.”
Allianz Field joins the Xcel Energy Center and Target Field foodservices along with many leading restaurants, hotels, retailers and other businesses, including those listed here, in the Ecolab Science Certified program.Â
The Ecolab Science Certified program helps facilities:Â Â
- Create clean through hospital disinfectants and food-contact sanitizers approved for use against germs that cause the flu or norovirus as well as the COVID-19 virus and other emerging pathogens, and elevated hygiene standards and protocols informed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.Â
- Check clean through detailed public health and food safety training and periodic auditing by highly trained Ecolab specialists to determine whether program elements are being followed.Â
- Help consumers see and believe clean through cleaning and disinfecting procedures and the Ecolab Science Certified seal, a visible sign of commitment that a location is advancing cleaner, safer practices.
