On Tuesday at 6 p.m., MNUFC Radio on 1500 ESPN will premiere the Adrian Heath Show, a live one-hour program with the Loons’ gaffer hosted by MNUFC sideline reporter Jamie Watson. Jamie and Adrian will catch up on the week’s news about the club and touch on all things soccer, plus take calls and welcome special guests. The Adrian Heath Show will air on Tuesdays for the rest of the season from 6–7 p.m., and fans can listen on 1500 AM or online at 1500ESPN.com.
“Adrian is not only one of the preeminent minds in MLS right now, he’s an amazing character with great stories and anecdotes,” said 1500 ESPN Director of Programming & Promotions, Brad Lane. “We are extremely excited about a show with him and Jamie that informs and entertains each week for this passionate soccer community.”
Adrian Heath was appointed head coach of Minnesota United in November, 2016. After playing over 18 years in Europe, Heath spent the next 11 years coaching in England for clubs such as Burnley, Sheffield United and Coventry City before coming to the United States in 2008. The Englishman was named head coach of the USL expansion side Austin Aztex. The team spent two years in Austin before relocating to Orlando in 2010, to become Orlando City. In just four years under Heath, Orlando City won two USL Pro championships and three Commissioner’s Cups. The club joined MLS in 2015, and Heath’s influence helped build the club for a very successful inaugural season, narrowly missing out on the playoffs.
“I couldn’t be more excited,” said Heath. “When you have a show that airs every week it gives our fans a more in-depth look at what we are doing each week, what we talk about, the different situations within the club and what we are trying to achieve. I promise our fans that we won’t edit the questions and we will try and answer their questions as honestly as possible without getting myself in trouble!”
