Biography
Kage Romanshyn Jr. signed a two-year MLS NEXT Pro contract with MNUFC2 on January 22, 2024 after developing with and playing for MNUFC Academy’s U17 and U19 squads. The then 18-year-old midfielder notably trained and played impactful minutes for MNUFC2 during the entirety of the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro regular season. Across the past two years, Romanshyn Jr. has made 29 regular-season game appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists. His first assist was on the very first goal of the season at Real Monarchs on March 25, 2023. Following his goal & assist performance against SKCII during Matchday 27, Romanshyn Jr. was named the MLS NEXT Rising Star of the matchday. Additionally, Romanshyn Jr. represented MNUFC at the 2023 MLS All-Star Week, playing and starting the first 45 minutes for Team West during the MLS NEXT All-Star Game in Annapolis, Maryland.
He notably made his MLS and MNUFC first-team debut appearance as a substitute versus FC Dallas on June 8, 2024.
The midfielder had left shoulder surgery in February 2025 and is expected to be out for four to six months.
With MNUFC Academy, Kage made over 50 game appearances from 2021-2023 with the U17 and U19 squads.
