Biography
Britton Fischer, a 21-year-old center-back from Greenville, North Carolina, was acquired by MNUFC2 on February 21, 2023 on a two-year MLS NEXT Pro Contract. At the end of 2024, he then signed a new, one-year contract with a club option for 2026. The defender has been a mainstay on the Twos’ back line, where he has made 47 regular-season game appearances, 42 starts, playing over 3,800 minutes of action on the pitch. During the 2024 season, Fischer made 30 appearances (regular season and Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup), notably providing three assists. He additionally made his debut appearance with the First Team during an international friendly against FC Kaiserslautern in the summer of 2023.
The defender joined MNUFC2 from North Carolina FC of USL League One, where he appeared in 30 matches between 2021 and 2022. Fischer made his professional debut in May 2021 during a 0-0 draw against the Richmond Kickers. Prior to his time with NCFC’s senior team, the defender was a member of the North Carolina FC Academy in 2019. He has competed in both the USYS National League Regional Playoffs and the ECNL National Playoffs. Notably, Fischer won NCFC’s Hamilton Sportsmanship award, an honor annually awarded to players who represent sportsmanship on and off the pitch.
