Minnesota United today announced that the club has exercised the 2018 contract option on defender Bertrand Owundi Eko’o and loaned him to Charlotte Independence of the United Soccer League (USL).
This Loan Agreement contains a right of recall for MLS, which enables Owundi to play for Charlotte and MNUFC throughout the duration of the loan period, subject to roster rules and compliance.
Owundi, 24, featured for 90 minutes in a 2-1 friendly loss to Deportivo Saprissa on July 11 and has yet to take part in an MLS game with the Loons.
