MNUFC U13 vs. Cincinnati United Premier U13
The Loons fell short last Saturday against Cincinnati United Premier, 2-0. The squad was strong throughout the first half, as neither team was able to put one in the back of the net. In the 44th minute, Bennett Gerak opened up the scoring for Cincinnati with his first goal of the morning. Minnesota United players Nana-Owusu Ababio and Merrick Shaefer received yellow card cautions, and ten minutes later, Gerak buried his second goal. They failed in their efforts to catch up and pull ahead, the Loons fell to Cincinnati, 2-0.
MNUFC U14 vs. Cincinnati United Premier U14
The U14s came home with a different result. Daniel Lainsbury put the Loons on the board early with a screamer in the 23rd minute. The first half finished quickly, and both teams started off the second half with an urgency for three points. A yellow card caution was given to Cincinnati’s Maddox Behnfeldt in the 48th minute, with Chex Burton joining the yellow card club in the 54th. Joseph Tanner Roden capitalized in the 56th minute, tying the score and shifting the momentum. The Loons fought hard, and with Morgan Olson’s finish in the 74th minute, pulled ahead, 2-1, before the final whistle blew minutes later.
MNUFC announced the trial dates for its Development Academy (DA) teams and assessment dates for the Pre-Development Academy program. Trials will be for U13 (2006), U14 (2005) and U15 (2004) DA teams, along with placement trials for the U11 (2008) and U12 (2007) Pre-Development Academy programs.
