Minnesota United today confirmed that midfielder Kevin Molino will undergo surgery in the coming weeks to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of his left knee, an injury sustained in the match against Orlando City SC.
Molino, 27, suffered the injury during the Loons’ 2-1 win at Orlando City on Saturday, March 10. He left the pitch on a stretcher in the 51st minute.
The Trinidad and Tobago international was superb in his first two matches of the 2018 season, scoring twice in the opener at San Jose Earthquakes and assisting the first goal at Orlando City. Molino is not expected to return for the 2018 MLS season.
The club sends all of its strength and support to Kevin and wishes him a speedy recovery.
