Minnesota United Inaugural Season Kits

2017 Inaugural Primary and Secondary Kits

Minnesota United today unveiled its primary and secondary kits for the club’s inaugural MLS season, presented by Target. Both kits bear the loon badge the team first adopted in 2013 and also carry forward the blue and grey colors, symbolizing the Mississippi River and Minnesota’s Iron Range. As the Official Partner and kit sponsor, Target will have its logo on the front of the kit, a first for Minnesota United.

“I can’t wait to see our players and fans proudly displaying the iconic Target bullseye across their chests,” said Minnesota United President Nick Rogers. “Target is making a major push into soccer in the U.S., including as the presenting sponsor of this year’s MLS All-Star Game in Chicago, and the entire club is thrilled to have Target as a partner.”

Minnesota United and Target previously announced a multi-year partnership agreement in January 2017, making Target the Official Partner of Minnesota United and official sponsor of the club’s inaugural MLS kits. Target will be a premier sponsor at MNUFC events across the Twin Cities and the Target brand will be on display at TCF Bank Stadium at all 17 home matches and as the presenting sponsor of Minnesota United’s Inaugural MLS Season in 2017.

“It’s an honor to be the first front-of-jersey sponsor for Minnesota United FC and help bring soccer to the Twin Cities, which has been Target’s hometown for more than 50 years,” said William White, vice president of marketing for Target. “Target has a long history of supporting our local teams and we’re excited to represent the Loons at home and throughout the country on their inaugural kits.”

Few brands are associated as strongly with Minnesota as Target, a ubiquitous presence and major employer across the state. Minnesotans grow up with both soccer and Target, making the partnership a natural and strong one.

“It’s a really special day for everyone involved with the club. I grew up in Woodbury with a Target store right down the street,” said MNUFC defender and Minnesota native, Brent Kallman. “My family spent a lot of time in Targets growing up, whether buying school supplies or sporting equipment. It’s a really big moment for the club and I can’t wait to take the field in the new kits.”

Minnesota United makes its home MLS debut on March 12 at TCF Bank Stadium against fellow expansion side Atlanta United. Fans who want to be there for every home match can join the Itasca Society. Over 10,000 season tickets have already been sold, rapidly approaching the inaugural season limit of 11,842 members in this exclusive club — one for every lake in Minnesota. A portion of all proceeds from these season tickets are donated to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ Loon Monitoring program. Both season tickets and single match tickets are available now at MNUFC.COM or by calling 763.4SOCCER.
