Head Coach Adrian Heath
On the performance against LAFC…
“Outstanding. Probably the most pleased I’ve been, maybe, since I’ve been here because the timing of the season, to play them, and on the back of midweek games. Everything that was built up with it, I was so pleased with the way we played. The only thing that was the disappointment was the final result. But in terms of the way we went about doing our jobs, the way we moved the ball about, it was terrific. Pleasure to watch actually.”
On the vibe of the group knowing there’s only three games left of the season…
“They’re good. We all know what’s at stake. It’s not going to be easy, it’s never easy in Vancouver. Plastic pitch and the way that it is. I think it’s their first full house or the first time it’ll be open to the public. They’re on a great run. Vanni [Sartini] has done a really great job since taking over. We know it’s tough and it’s a huge game for them as well, where we all are in the standings. As I’ve said over the last few weeks Cal, it seems to me that every game that we play is the old six-pointer. It’s like snakes and ladders. You win, so you go up a couple. You lose and you go down three spots. All to play for.”
On how Vanni Sartini has been able to turn Vancouver around…
“Well they’ve got a little bit of confidence going. They’ve changed the shape of the team. I’m sure that Vanni [Sartini] will tell you when you start to win games, no matter what you do as a coach, players start to believe. They’ve got a lot of belief in the group. Bryan Gauld has come in and gave them a little spark. Brian White has done really well of late. Their two wingers, [Cristian] Dajome and Deiber [Caicedo] there have done really well. They’ve got a lot of threats and we know it’s going to be tough but I think they’ll be smart enough to have watched our game on the weekend and know that we’re going to go there and try to win the game.”
On what defines a good result for Minnesota on Wednesday…
“We need to try and win the game. Of we come about with something, it sets us up nice for two games to go. We’ll be in the top seven, which is what we aimed at at the beginning of the season. Still in our own hands. We’re looking forward to the game.”
Midfielder Emanuel Reynoso
On his thoughts against LAFC…
[ENG]: "Yes Yes. The result is not what we wanted. We wanted to win, at home, with our people and also gain points so, if we would have won, we’d moved to fourth. So it was important to win. We played against a great rival who, who plays football very well, puts pressure on you. I think we played a good game, we played very well, maybe we weren't very direct when it came to attacking or being precise in the area. But hey, we played a great game, but as I just told you, I am not satisfied with the result. But, for a moment we played very well and we were able to rescue the game as a team.”
On his personal goals for these next three games…
[ENG]: “There are three finals, we have three finals where we play the league table. So, we know that it will be very difficult, but believing in ourselves, that we know that we have a great team, a great coaching staff where we trust our team. And we’re going forward to play in Vancouver, a difficult field. But, we are going to go out and win, to find the three points, which is what we need to qualify."
On his expectations for the Vancouver game…
[SPA]: “No, difícil, difícil.
[ENG]: “No, difficult, difficult. We saw their last game, the result raised a lot. They were losing 2-0 and with a step forward, the game changed. As I told you, it will be difficult. But us too, we have our thing, we have a strong team. Humbly, calm and are thinking about winning. So if God allows it, we can get good results.”
On being the third most fouled player in the league and if he’s expecting more of that against Vancouver…
[ENG]: “Look, the truth is that when they foul me and it’s good for the team, we have the chance to try to score a goal on a free kick, it is very good. So yes, I think it's going to be difficult on their field, synthetic, synthetic field. They are used to it, they are going to play at home. Difficult, and hopefully we will have a great game and, as I just told you, we can add points and think about the Playoffs, which is now the objective and onwards. "
On how excited he is to be around for the last four games…
[ENG]: “Like I told you, well, there is a lot on the table. We are all very close. As I just told you, with a great teams, we are there in the fight. We are going to fight until the end and I think, as I just told you, these will be three finals where we play the league table and we will be attentive to each game. We have a home game with our people, where we have to take advantage, like I told you, against a great rival. But it's going to be tough but we have confidence in our team. So, we have to go out to win all three games and think about what comes next.”
