Aye, lads and lassies, lend me your ears! While we do understand that St. Patrick’s Day falls on March 17, sometimes Irish eyes smile upon us. In our case, that means we’re extremely lucky to welcome one of Ireland’s own, St. Patrick’s Athletic, for an international friendly on March 20. Well, that seemed like the kind of omen we needed to reignite some of that Irish-inspired fun for some bonus St. Pat’s celebratory festivities! Which is why MNUFC has lined up all the Irish-ness available to extend the greenest holiday of all as a precursor to kickoff on the pitch.
So, come on down, and go bagh at Allianz Field on March 20 and take in the extended holiday with your Loons!
3/20 Festivities Scheduled:
Pregame Bagpipes and Drums
- Brian Boru Irish Pipe and Drums will perform outside the Northwest gate at 5:50pm and 6:20pm, and on-field for the player procession
The Northerly Gales
- Fans can find the sweet traditional sounds of the Emerald Isle at the top of Wonderwall for both pregame and halftime
Pregame performance by the Hudson Irish Dance Academy
- Pregame warmups will feel a bit more jovial when this dance crew performs on the concourse as well as the Roof Deck
Singer Katie McMahan will perform the National Anthems:
- Our special guest will perform the Irish national anthem in Gaelic, as well as the U.S. national anthem
St. Paul Police Department Color Guard, part of the Emerald Society:
- They will also be on hand to participate in the pre-game festivities
Honorary Coin Toss
- Dignitaries from the St Paul St Patrick Association, Mr. Pat and Miss Shamrock, will do the honors for this special match.
Baaary will be there!
- The mascot of St. Paul’s Irish Fair will also be in attendance to share in the extended fun
