Two MNUFC players, goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth and midfielder Ibson, have earned spots in the Week 9 edition of MLS Team of the Week. It is the first MLS Team of the Week appearance for both players this season.
In his second start of 2018, Shuttleworth stood tall in front of the MNUFC goal to preserve three points in Saturday night’s match against Houston Dynamo. He made five saves to get his first win of the season, including an incredible goal-line save in the 66th minute to keep the match level. This is Shuttleworth’s fifth time earning MLS Team of the Week honors since joining MNUFC and his first time off of the bench.
Ibson earned his first-ever MLS Team of the Week honors this week with a spot on the bench. He scored a cheeky backheel goal that secured three points for the Loons on Saturday night, his second of the season. The Brazilian’s skillful finish is also nominated for Goal of the Week.
