Sang Bin Jeong Earns First Team of the Matchday Honors

Saturday’s match in Colorado wasn’t short on excitement, with the six-goal thriller keeping viewers guessing until the final whistle. After notching his first MLS brace in the first half of action, our very own Sang Bin Jeong stood out as the man of the match and has subsequently earned his first appearance on the MLS Team of the Matchday.

After starting in a relatively new position, Sang Bin reminded Loons fans of the qualities that brought him to the club’s attention last year. The South Korean international played alongside Tani Oluwaseyi in a front two throughout much of the game, hanging on the back shoulder of the Rapids’ backline and always ready to make a run in behind. We already knew he was fast, but by adding a finishing touch to the end of his runs, he’s proven to be truly dangerous as well.

This has already been a bit of a breakout season for Sang Bin from a performance standpoint, as the forward started the year with a string of strong performances before leaving for international duty. Since his return, he’s added production to his game, scoring three goals in his last two matches and looking menacing throughout.

Well done and well deserved, Sang Bin. Here’s to the first of many TOTM appearances! Regardless of where he plays on the pitch, we can always count on this guy to put in a shift for the Black and Blue, and given the form he’s in right now, I wouldn’t bet against him anytime soon.
