Another matchday, and another spot for Joseph Rosales on the MLS Team of the Matchday, this time for his performance in Wednesday eveningās 2-2 draw with the LA Galaxy. For the Honduran international, it was another quality, end-to-end showing that would see him putting his teammates in the right places to capitalize against a Galaxy side that has shown much improvement in comparison to their 2023 campaign. But, improved or not, Rosales had LA on the chase all evening.
The most striking impact Rosales made on the pitch came in the 80th minute of play, when his perfectly-placed corner kick found his high-flying Honduran colleague, Kervin Arriaga. Arriagaās well-placed header would be the equalizer the boys needed to bring them level with LA, after the Loons lost their early advantage for a short time when LA hit two quick second-half strikes.
His clutch corner would have Arriaga offering his mostly praise for his fellow countryman.
āāāYes, itās the unity [between us]. From the moment I got to the club, I was welcomed well. He [Joseph Rosales] is the one who taught me the circumstances of the club. We have formed a beautiful alliance beyond us both being Hondurans but as teammates.ā
However, when asked about Rosalesā new hair color, Arriaga wasnāt nearly as complimentary.
āI think heās ugly and with that hair even more ugly.ā
Thatās harsh, Kerv. Donāt worry, Joe. We think it looks really, really nice. Congrats to you!
