Saturday nights at Allianz Field don’t get much better than this. Minnesota United delivered a complete and impressive performance against the resurgent, playoff-bound Colorado Rapids. Goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair secured a clean sheet, while striker Kelvin Yeboah continued his scorching form by notching another brace, as the Loons dominated the fourth-seeded Rapids with a 3-0 victory, building even more momentum in their playoff push.

After a 2023 campaign spent at the bottom of the Western Conference, Colorado's 2024 attack had managed to turn things around with consistent success. But with a chance to further solidify their playoff position, the Rapids found themselves outmatched as Minnesota brought their best across all areas of the pitch—attack, midfield, and defense.

Michael Boxall, alongside the defensive unit, delivered a stellar performance, limiting Colorado to just one shot on target for the entire evening. It was a much-needed response after some uncharacteristic defensive displays over the last month.

Leading the charge once again was Kelvin Yeboah. The Loons’ new designated player continued to be a key factor in their recent form. His performance would only add to the tear the striker he’s been on since joining the club, with his two scores on the evening bringing his total score tally to 7 goals in six matches played. Midfielder Robin Lod also etched his name into the history books by earning an assist on Yeboah’s first goal in the 16th minute, tying Minnesota's regular-season record for assists.

Yeboah added his second goal just two minutes into the second half, this time assisted by fellow recent signing Joaquín Pereyra. The icing on the cake came in the 82nd minute when Hassani Dotson blasted a line drive past Colorado goalkeeper Zack Steffen, securing the victory.

This win marks a crucial statement from Minnesota United as they strengthen their playoff hopes. Although a tough midweek matchup against Real Salt Lake looms, the Loons appear to be hitting their stride at just the right time.
