MINNESOTA UNITED FC vs. COLORADO RAPIDS
Allianz Field | St. Paul, Minnesota
04.16.2022 | MLS Week No. 7 | MLS Game No. 7
7:00 p.m. CT (Bally Sports North and MNUFC Radio on SKOR North)

Unfortunately, Minnesota United fell once again on Sunday. For the first time this season, the Loons failed to put the ball in back of the net and the final score of 1-0 favored the home team. The boys in Black and Blue have a busy two weeks ahead of them and they will need to bounce back quickly with three games coming their way. First up, the Loons will be facing a Colorado Rapids squad that has had a similar start to their season as MNUFC. The Rapids have garnered an identical record of 2-2-2 with the number of goals they have scored being the only statistic separating the two teams. Hopefully, the Loons will be able to put their recent losses behind them and get back into scoring form to make sure they secure the three points up for grabs this weekend.

ADRIAN HEATH ON THE COLORADO RAPIDS SO FAR THIS SEASON...

“It’s early and at the weekend, they got beat 3-1 at Dallas. In the first half, I thought they were very, very good. In the previous game, they were the better team. These will be two games that they have not won a game as well. We know from playing them last year, that the games have all been tight. I know that they’ll be really well organized because they’ve got a good spirit within their group. It will be tough but we’re at home. Let’s go win the game.” MORE

ROBIN LOD ON THE PERFORMANCE OF THE DEFENSE...

“They are giving us chances to win games. They are doing well. Now, it’s just the whole team needs to get better on the offensive end. As for defending, we are doing great as a whole team. We need to give big credit to the defense and now we have to get the other side of the field to get better and score some goals.” MORE

STORYLINES PRESENTED BY BMW

  • FOCUS ON ME: In a fixture that has seen some wild results and unexpected endings over the years, one constant has been Colorado’s ability to score goals and come back from deficits in the second half of games. The Rapids have scored 19 total goals against Minnesota, with a whopping 15 of those 19 coming in the second half of games. In 2021, this included a 10-man comeback to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 win and a 2-0 deficit turned to a 3-2 victory — the latter of which was Minnesota’s fourth straight loss to open the 2021 season. The Rapids were a bogey team for Minnesota from May to October last season. Can the Loons flip the script? MORE
