As MNUFC enters its third season of Pre-Academy Programming, there are some updates the club is excited to announce.
What is the Pre-Academy?
The Pre-Academy program is the beginning of the pathway into the MNUFC Development Academy. This is a supplementary training program, where players stay with their club teams full-time while participating in additional sessions with the Pre-Academy. Selected players will also participate in competitions on weekends throughout the year. Along with the training and events, all players will have the opportunity to participate in Festivals set up throughout the year where players come together and play.
Players are placed at an Academy Development Center (ADC) in either an ADC-AP (Advanced Placement) or an ADC-BP (Basic Placement) group. These centers can be found throughout the Twin Cities and no players are cut from this program. The key at this level is placing players in an appropriate group, based on ability.

New for Fall 2019
BOYS + GIRLS
While the Pre-Academy has had girls in the program for some time, the program is developing way to specifically and thoroughly integrate them into the program beginning this fall.
U10s
For the first time we will have a U10 (born in 2010) group in the Pre-Academy. This group will not be separated into AP and Metro groups — all players will train together. This is just a training group and there are no plans for competitions outside of the Pre-Academy Festivals.
AREA PROGRAMS
In an effort to expand the reach of the Pre-Academy program, we are introducing ADC-Area groups. Area sites are an extension of the Basic Placement Program and will be at locations within 100 miles of the Twin Cities. These sites are set up to reduce travel for players while still allowing them to participate in the program.
