MNUFC2 announced today that the club has signed forward Enrique Nieves to an MLS NEXT Pro contract through the end of 2024, with a club option for 2025. He will join the MNUFC2 squad upon receipt of his ITC.

Enrique Nieves, born in Lawrenceville, Georgia and raised in Madrid, Spain, joins MNUFC2 after training with MNUFC2 and the Minnesota United first team throughout the first half of 2024 before signing his MLS NEXT Pro contract in July.

The 20-year-old previously played with and made game appearances for Club Atletico Banfield’s Youth squad during the 2022/23 season in the Banfield neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Prior to his time in Argentina, Nieves developed with CF Talavera’s U19 youth squad in Spain. In the 2021/22 season, the forward made 26 game appearances (22 starts) with Talavera’s U19 team, scoring three goals in over 1,900 minutes played.
