MNUFC2 announced today that Assistant Coach Jeremy Hall has officially been named as the team’s next Head Coach. Hall has been with MNUFC2 since its inaugural season in 2022.

“First and foremost, I am grateful to be given the opportunity to lead MNUFC2,” said newly appointed MNUFC2 Head Coach Jeremy Hall. “The opportunity is huge from a personal standpoint, but then also from the point where I think about me as a coach and the age group that I am able to mentor. This age of whether it is the top of the older Academy kids, college players that are coming in, or younger first-team guys – the whole dynamic of what this team is built on – I feel like I can really relate to it from how my career went in different moments.”

Hall is currently in his third season as a member of the MNUFC2 coaching staff, and his first as the Head Coach. The Tampa-native is a former MLS veteran, having played with New York Red Bulls, Portland Timbers, FC Dallas and New England Revolution and played for Sacramento Republic FC of the USL. Hall was chosen to lead the West Team during the MLS NEXT All-Star Game in 2022 during MLS’ All-Star Week held in Minnesota in August 2022. He additionally helped prepare the Minnesota United first team ahead of the 2024 season, acting as an interim assistant coach throughout the entire preseason and the first three games of the MLS regular season, where MNUFC went an impressive 2-0-1 (W-L-D) in its those first matches.

“I am looking forward to seeing Jeremy positively contribute to the development of our players here at Minnesota United,” said MNUFC Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Khaled El-Ahmad. “Jeremy did a good job assisting the first team during the early stages of the season, and through that, showed that he connects with players across all levels of our club. Jeremy’s connection to players is beneficial in giving them the tools to grow and succeed within our system and additionally with this opportunity, he will also be able to grow in his own abilities as a coach and a leader.”

Internationally, Hall was a part of the U17 U.S. National Team and played in the U17 World Cup, but made his senior debut with the Puerto Rico National Team in 2016. The former MLS defender began his coaching career with the Toronto FC Academy in 2019 and holds a USSF National B Coaching License.

“I’m excited about continually talking to these guys, pushing these players and helping them grow in their development. Just being in the second team space – even as an assistant coach the past two seasons – I got to already do that. It will be fun to lead and really be able to be the voice of it. I’m really looking forward to helping these players grow in this space,” said Hall.

MNUFC2 continues its 2024 MLS NEXT Pro regular season on the road at Timbers2 at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon on Sunday, April 21. The match against the Portland side is set to kick off at 4:00 p.m. CT and will be live streamed on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
