MNUFC Partners with The International School of Minnesota

Minnesota United has partnered with The International School of Minnesota (ISM) as the school of choice for all out-of-market students entering the MNUFC Academy program.

“Ensuring that the academic program would provide these soccer student-athletes with a quality education was extremely important to us,” said MNUFC Academy Director Tim Carter. “The more we learned about ISM and saw first-hand the care and attention they provide to students made us very comfortable in establishing this partnership. It is a key component of our Academy’s strategy and will help us to achieve our mission of developing players for our first team.”

ISM was chosen for its proven results, rigorous academic program and its unique Student Life Organization. Part of the partnership includes welcoming MNUFC Academy student athletes for the 2018-19 school year. The MNUFC Development Academy program nurtures young soccer talent in Minnesota and around the United States. Students who join the academy from outside of the Twin Cities area will be attending ISM – ensuring they will develop both as athletes and scholars.

“We are excited about this partnership and the opportunities it will provide both the ISM community and the MNUFC organization. I look forward to hearing about our student athletes’ great achievements academically and both on and off the field.” said Mahdi Kansou, Executive Director, Business Operations at SABIS, ISM’s parent company.

ISM and Minnesota United share a commitment to creating a more inclusive environment wherein fans and students can make an impact the world around them. MNUFC has chartered several key initiatives and partnered with local charities to make such an impact in its community by using sport as a vessel to bring people together. ISM takes pride in educating students so that they are not only well prepared for their academic future, but also leaders intent on changing the world for the better.

“ISM has a long tradition of generating successful alumni and I am sure the academy students will follow suit,” said acting School Director Stephan Michaud.
