MNUFC is committed to leading the way in the development of the beautiful game in our beloved home state. From the lights of Allianz Field to the many pitches of the National Sports Center, this club is working to not only put together the best team our state can produce, but the best team in the entire league and beyond.

The road to achieving that goal starts with you. Yes, you! The people of Minnesota. There’s so much talent throughout this region, as evidenced by the Minnesotans representing on our own first team and on professional teams across the league. That’s why, as we do every year, Minnesota United is hosting a tryout for our academy program this June at the NSC.

From June 25 to June 28, our licensed academy coaches, alongside a slew of licensed evaluators from around the community, will be evaluating upwards of 300 young soccer players to see who’s got what it takes to join our ranks for the 2024-25 MLS NEXT season. There are spots available at each age group, meaning that there will be players in attendance that are offered either extended trials with the club or an outright spot on one of our academy teams.

MNUFC’s Manager of Youth Camps and Clinics, Scott Macleod, provided a bit more detail regarding what kinds of players the academy staff is looking to add this year.

“This tryout is aimed towards players who feel they have the ability and commitment to play at a national level in MLS Next,” Macleod said. “It provides a fantastic opportunity for players from around the region and beyond to showcase their talents in front of the academy coaches and staff. We’re looking forward to having these players join us at the training ground in Blaine this summer.”

Players born between the years of 2006 and 2011 are invited to sign up while space remains. A $120 sign-up fee will need to be paid at registration, but should your son be selected to join the team, subsequent costs will be covered by MNUFC. Check-in information will be sent out via email a week before the tryout begins.

With just a few weeks separating us from the tryout, there isn’t much time to waste. Sign your son up today if they’re ready to take the next step in their soccer journey.
