Minnesota United announced today that the club has signed midfielder Moses Nyeman on a first-come, first-served basis after being waived by Real Salt Lake at the end of the 2023 season. Nyeman joins Minnesota on a one-year deal with club options for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
Nyeman, 20, began his soccer career in D.C. United’s Academy before signing as the second youngest Homegrown Player in club history on Oct. 3, 2019 at 15 years old. He tallied two goals and an assist while with D.C. United’s USL affiliate team, Loudoun United FC of the USL Championship. Nyeman also appeared in 32 regular season games for D.C. United from 2020-22.
The Monrovia, Liberia native signed with S.K. Beveren in Belgian’s Challenger Pro League in August 2022 before returning to MLS where he was loaned to Real Salt Lake ahead of the 2023 season. He spent most of his time with the club’s MLS NEXT Pro side Real Monarchs, recording a goal and an assist in 16 appearances.
Internationally, Nyeman is eligible to represent both the United States and Liberia.
