Minnesota United held a free soccer clinic for students from Hmong College Prep Academy on Friday, wrapping up the club's Countdown to Kickoff initiative. Hmong College Prep Academy is a K-12 charter school just two miles north of Minnesota United's future home, Allianz Field.
Academy coaches, PK Loon and MNUFC goalkeeper Alex Kapp and defender Carter Manley interacted with students and led them through passing and shooting drills, teamwork exercises and small-sided games.
After the clinic, the players signed autographs and took pictures with the students.
"I had a great time at the clinic on Friday,” said Manley. “It was amazing to see youth players enjoying the game, and the clinic was an important part of making that happen. No matter what the youth players' skill levels, the coaches and staff created an atmosphere that encouraged the kids to play their best and have fun doing it.”
