Minnesota United announced today plans for the 2023 Home Opener at Allianz Field against the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, March 11, presented by Allina Health. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT, and the game will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass and MNUFC Radio on 1500 ESPN.
Pregame festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Lawn Layover, presented by Sun Country where fans can dance and enjoy music by DJ Matty Matt, mobile ordering from the Grand Casino Brew Hall menu, hot chocolate and MNUFC lawn games.
Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the first 15,000 fans will receive MNUFC mittens courtesy of Allina Health upon entering the stadium. The pregame ceremony will include a national anthem performance by singer-songwriter and contestant from NBC’s The Voice, Nate Amor. At halftime, the club will honor Mindy Daugherty, Physical Education Teacher and Soccer Coach of Centerview Elementary, as the 2023 Home Opener’s L’Etoile du Nord. John Buettner will be observed as the honoree for the Gillette Ball Delivery. MNUFC Power Soccer team captain Deandra Bardell will be the Allina Health Honorary Scoreboard Keeper for the game. Captain Conner Simms of the United States Air Force/Space Force will be honored as the Xcel Energy Eye of the Loon.
Following Saturday’s match, the Black & Blue Team Store will be hosting a Feminine Care Supply Drive starting Wednesday, March 15 and lasting through Saturday, March 18. Proceeds will benefit the Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center.
