Minnesota United Announces Andrew Gregor as Director of Scouting and Hank Stebbins as Assistant Technical Director

Minnesota United today announced the club has hired Andrew Gregor as the club’s Director of Scouting. In addition to Gregor the club has named Hank Stebbins as Assistant Technical Director.

Gregor joins the club following his time with the Portland Timbers. Gregor held multiple important roles within the Timbers organization from 2011-2020, working closely with the Timbers Academy and Timbers 2, the club’s USL affiliate at the time. He was the head coach for both the Timbers U16 and U18 academy teams as well as earning the role of head coach for Timbers 2 from 2016-17. In addition to his work in professional soccer, Gregor coached at the collegiate level at the University of Portland and Pacific University.

Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Gregor played professional soccer in MLS and USL. Gregor played for Columbus Crew, Seattle Sounders, Kansas City, Portland and the Rochester Rhinos. He currently holds a USSF A-Senior License, EFCL2 and a USSF B License.

Gregor will oversee the scouting department, and part of his responsibilities include helping to establish and executing on the sporting vision for the club, developing and maintaining relationships across MLS and the global soccer networks, along with overseeing club analytics and the player recruitment process and pathway pyramid, including draft strategy.

Stebbins joins the Minnesota United sporting staff with experience in arranging employment contracts and representation agreements with intermediaries and professional teams on behalf of the USL and its players and coaches. Additionally, Stebbins was recently retained to prepare transfer agreements, loan agreements, player employment agreements, and coaching agreements for MLS NEXT Pro.

In his role, Stebbins will be responsible for supporting the Technical Director in all aspects of player acquisitions, including roster management and compliance, player negotiations and player retention, and overseeing the global scouting network of MNUFC.
