Minnesota United today announced a partnership with Sun Country Airlines, making the Minneapolis-based airline the Official Airline of Minnesota United.
“Sun Country has provided excellent service and an elevated in-flight experience to our team these last two seasons. As we head into our 2022 season, we could not be more excited to call them our Official Airline partner,” said MNUFC CEO Shari Ballard. “In addition to the service provided to our players, Sun Country has been an incredible partner for our fans. We deeply appreciate their help in making air travel to our away games convenient and affordable and for directly helping to grow soccer across all of our communities.”
As the Official Airline partner for MNUFC, Sun Country will be providing non-stop service to select Minnesota United road game destinations, including matches at both LAFC and LA Galaxy, Seattle, New England, Houston, Colorado, Nashville and Portland. Additionally, Sun Country will be the Presenting Partner of Loon Landing pre-game activities on the Great Lawn at Allianz Field all season long. Fans can expect an elevated experience including promotional activities, live entertainment, prize giveaways, and more, for the following theme nights:
- May 28 vs. NYCFC – Sustainability Night
- July 30 vs. Portland Timbers – Pride Night
- August 20 vs. Austin FC
- October 9 vs. Vancouver Whitecaps - Fan Appreciation Night

As a partner of Major League Soccer, Sun Country will continue to provide charter service to all MLS teams, building upon a relationship established in 2021. Sun Country Airlines began providing charter service to MLS during the summer of 2020 when the league returned to play following its COVID-19 hiatus. This new agreement provides for charter services pursuant to the requirements in the league’s Collective Bargaining Agreement.
