MNUFC2 on Sunday night scored three goals against Houston Dynamo 2 at Shell Energy Stadium to earn their second win in-a-row at the start of the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season.

10’ - MNUFC2 created its first dangerous scoring opportunity when first-team defender DJ Taylor drove the ball into the goalkeeper’s box on the right wing. Taylor sent the ball towards the center, attempting to connect with either forward Logan Dorsey or Darius Randell, but the ball missed and went to the opposite side of the 18-yard box.

15’ - MNUFC2’s next scoring chance came on a Curt Calov corner kick that sent the ball toward the back post, which was headed to Logan Dorsey’s right foot and ultimately deflected out to right wing Darius Randell, who drove the ball toward the net but missed left of the goal.

22’ - The home side found their first chance at a goal when Lukas Bruegmann took the ball into MNUFC2’s 18-yard box before he quickly passed it up to Diego Gonzalez. The Dynamo Dos striker then dribbled towards the near post, striking a shot that Twos’ goalkeeper Wessel Speel stopped.

25’ - Minnesota’s third scoring chance came off a long through ball from Kieran Chandler that connected with Logan Dorsey, who made a run to the top of the 18-yard box. Dorsey took a dribble and sent the ball with his left foot, which connected with the left post and deflected out.

28’ (1-0) - Just a few minutes later, the Twos scored the opening goal of the game when Calov, who was inside the center circle, sent a long ball over the top of the field where Randell was in position atop the Houston box. Randell then chipped the ball over Dynamo Dos goalkeeper Roman Kerimov as he crashed towards Randell to stop the shot, but the ball went over and into the net to give MNUFC2 the 1-0 lead.

35’ - An errant Dynamo 2 pass directed back to Enrique Correa was intercepted by Dorsey, who took the ball into the box and struck it toward the left side of the net that ultimately was deflected by goalkeeper Roman Kerimov’s right leg with the ball remaining in play.

44’ (2-0) - The Twos scored their second goal of the game on a sequence created by Curt Calov, who delivered a through ball into right side of the 18-yard box where Logan Dorsey crossed the ball left into the six-yard box where it met Loïc Mesanvi, who put the ball past goalkeeper Roman Kerimov giving MNUFC2 the 2-0 lead.

45’+1’ - Wessel Speel was forced to make a save at close range when Houston’s Gonzalez took a shot from inside the six-yard box. Speel’s save kept the score at 2-0 right before half time.

51’ (3-0) - Logan Dorsey added a third goal to MNUFC2’s lead when first-team midfielder Hoyeon Jung sent a pass into the center of Houston’s box. Dorsey then took the ball laterally to the right side, where he created space to take a shot that deflected off a Dynamo 2 defender and into the far side of the net.

68’ - Speel made another diving save to keep Houston Dynamo 2 scoreless when the home side took a direct free kick. The service into Minnesota’s box connected with Houston’s Diego Gonzalez, who headed the ball towards the right post. But, Speel dove and got a hand on the ball to stop the attempt.

70’ - Mattheo Dimareli pounced on a hard touch from Twos defender Britton Fischer and struck the ball, which bent wide over the left corner post of Wessel Speel’s net.

90’+5’ (3-1) - Dynamo Dos converted a penalty kick attempt in the late moments of the match after MNUFC2 defender Kisa Kiingi committed a foul inside the box.
