The Loons have landed back in Minnesota after a successful showing in Houston against the Dynamo to take on LAFC this Saturday at Allianz Field. The Texan team was no match for MNUFC on Wednesday night as the Loons swooped in and secured a convincing 0-3 win on the road with goals from Bongokuhle Hlongwane and new signings Teemu Pukki and Ismael Tajouri-Shradi. With Wednesday's win, the Loons are inching closer to the playoff line and looking to boost their standings even further to reclaim their spot among the top teams in the West. To do so, MNUFC will need to show up and show out this Saturday against LAFC, the fourth-place team in the Western Conference. LA had a similar showing during their midweek match, taking down St. Louis City SC with an identical 3-0 scoreline. Historically, Minnesota and LA have struggled to find a winner when playing each other, with both sides winning twice and four draws between them in their eight meetings. In-Game Honors
The pregame ceremony will include a national anthem performance by Kristin Costin, recognition of Itasca Society Member Milan Homola as our SeatGeek Fan of the Game and Nick Stapher as the Allina Health Honorary Scoreboard Keeper for the game. Manny Becerra will also be featured as our Gillette Game Ball Delivery Kid and The Magnussen Family will be honored as our Red Baron Family of the Game. At halftime, the club will honor Monique Hernandez, Development and Communications Manager at CAPI USA, as the L'Etoile du Nord. Additionally, Jeff Rankin, Hospital Corpsman 1st Class, will be honored as the Xcel Energy Eye of the Loon.
