After defeating the Portland Timbers in Major League Soccer play over the weekend, Minnesota United will look for the double in the U.S. Open Cup Semifinal matchup this Wednesday. The Loons scored a late winner at Allianz Field this past Sunday, with Ethan Finlay slotting it home from the penalty spot in stoppage time. It was an evenly matched game, with both teams tallying chances and MNUFC breaking through just at the end. The Loons are attempting to make their first final in any tournament since 2011 and with a win would make it further than any Minnesota team has ever gone before in the U.S. Open Cup.
