After experiencing two tough losses to Seattle and Austin, the Loons have officially bounced back in a big way. On Saturday night, MNUFC scored three goals and secured three points in their 3-1 win over the Colorado Rapids. The Loons will need to maintain the momentum they built up this weekend with a busy two-game week ahead of them. First up, the Loons will hit the road for their first game of the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup against Forward Madison FC on Wednesday night. The Loons have only ever played the USL team once before in 2019, a historic meeting that marked the first time an MLS team had ever played in Mad City. In that friendly, Mason Toye scored a brace to give MNUFC a 2-1 win over the Flamingos. Now, three years later, the Loons are back with the hopes of repeating history in their first-ever competitive match against Madison.
