Minnesota United’s Development Academy was in high gear this past weekend, packing in four games in two days as they hosted teams from Cincinnati United Premier and St. Louis FC at the National Sports Center in Blaine.

9:30 a.m. | U13 vs. Cincinnati United Premier | 2-1

The U13s would take a measure of justice for the U15s 2-1 loss to Cincinnati United Premier last weekend in a game that featured a brace from Minnesota United’s Jabari Kibisu. Cincinnati’s Kellan Ren nabbed the consolation goal for the visitors.

9:30 a.m. | U15 vs. St. Louis FC | 0-0

There was nothing between the two sides in this defensive tussle that saw goal scoring chances go begging for both Minnesota United’s U15 side — playing in their first game of the weekend — and visiting St. Louis FC. Eighty minutes was not enough to separate them and both teams would have to settle for splitting points.

11:30 a.m. | U14 vs. Cincinnati United Premier | 3-4

In a spirited game with copious scoring on both sides, the U14s from MNUFC would ultimately come up short against the visiting Cincinnati side. Minnesota’s Micah Burton opened the scoring early with a strike in the third minute, but it would be answered by Adal Salinas of Cincinnati just three minutes later to level the game. The teams exchanged goals through the rest of the game, although in the end it would be Cincinnati’s Sam Vota who put the capper on it, completing his brace in the 71st minute and earning the visitors a 4-3 win.

A week after suffering a 2-1 defeat on the road, Minnesota United’s U15s got some points back at home with a 2-0 win over visiting Cincinnati United Premier. Carlos Leatherman got on the board first with a goal in the 65th minute, followed by a Cincinnati own goal in the 78th minute to ice the game.

The U15s are back in action next week with a game against St. Louis FC on Saturday, April 20 at 10:00 a.m. at the National Sports Center in Blaine. The U13s and U14s are off until May 4.
