Polica
Since forming in 2011, Minneapolis-based pop-band, Poliça have released six studio albums, including: Give You the Ghost (2012), Shulamith (2013), and Madness (2022). The event’s headlining band consists of members Channy Leaneagh (vocals, synth), Alex Nutter (electronics/synths), Drew Christopherson (drums), and Ben Ivascu (drums). Loons fans may be familiar with them from their appearance at Lawn Layover last season.

Papa Mbye

Ever since he immigrated to North Minneapolis from The Gambia/Senegal with his family at the age of two, Papa Mbye has been an artist. The locally-based musician showcases a wide range of influences in his music, from the Senegalese artists his parents played to the rap and R&B sounds he discovered right here in the Twin Cities. This diversity in influence creates a truly unique sound, making Papa Mbye an exciting opener for this year’s Bangers-Only Ball.
