With every passing season, the next generation of soccer stars gets another year older, and ever-closer to breaking through to the top level of the game. As they advance, rosters are left with holes that need filling, and young dreamers prepare to take their game to the next level.
Since its founding in 2020, MLS NEXT has grown into the nation’s leading youth soccer league, incorporating 137 clubs and a total of 628 teams across all age groups. This youth movement is the culmination of the steadily growing soccer culture in the US, providing a platform from which the whole country can take steps toward a brighter future in the sport.
With the 2023-24 MLS NEXT season kicking off in August, the MNUFC Academy is looking to continue their growth and competitiveness in the league. To achieve this goal, they are currently seeking highly-motivated, talented players born from 2005 to 2010 to fill spots on their U15, U17, and U19 squads. There will be a tryout period from June 27-30 at the National Sports Center, from 9 to 11 a.m. CT each day, for talented and motivated soccer players.
In an effort to advance the sport as much as possible, the MNUFC Academy invites all players to attend tryouts, regardless of their current youth club affiliation. This ensures that all of the best players have the opportunity to contribute to the highest level of youth soccer this region has to offer. As long as you have the right stuff, it doesn’t matter where you’re from.
The stories of Minnesota-raised Homegrown signings such as Fred Emmings and Devin Padelford, along with second-team call-ups like Carlos Leatherman and Leo Conneh, are proof that this environment improves players and provides opportunities to advance in the sport. If you’re committed to becoming the best player you can be, this tryout is for you.
For more information, visit the tryout registration page. Exact field numbers will be emailed to each participant 5-7 days prior to the first day of the tryout. The tryout registration fee is $100.
